Is Ryan Garko really this bad?

I hit around .300 as a team and have been lighting it up with the Giants on HOF. However, since trading for Garko and Sanchez, I think Garko is 1-20, with a pinch hit single being his only hit. he went 0-12 in my last series vs. the astros. sanchez has been killing the ball for me and pretty much everyone has been solid except garko. does anyone have any ideas how to hit with this guy? his stats look pretty good but all my players with lower stats than him have been out performing him by a mile. anyone have an indians franchise that played with garko all year, can you let me know the secret to hitting with this guy? i really dont want to bench him for the rest of the year. thanks.

Some people just cannot hit/pitch with some players.

Example:
I can't hit with. Chipper Jones Brian McCann
I can't pitch with. Derek Lowe and Halladay

That is what he did in real life with the Giants he is finally starting to hit. He has to get used to a new league and pitchers. Maybe the game takes that in to account?
