Request to EA to start adding to Online Franchise

Many of us have waited along time for EA to implement Online Franchise into Madden. As many of us anxiously wait for this game to release and we find out new and additional information from hands on previews, I wanted to see how many of us would like for EA to start adding things to the mode server side as they said they are capable of.

Although I'm excited about the mode, I'm puzzled as to why the little things are missing, such as a salary cap, realistic trades, the 'QB Rating' stat, and at least 15-20 seasons (I would like to see 30yrs). Even though these aren't mode killers for most of us, these are the nuts and bolts to having a 'True' franchise. It should mimic the offline mode in every aspect. If enough of us request for these 'nuts' and 'bolts' to be added I am confident EA will hear us as they did throughout this recent development cycle.

So hear are my requests with the reasons why:

1) Salary Cap: this affects how owners draft (especially with the initial fantasy draft), manage your team (free agency, trades, releases, etc)

2) Realistic Trades: If we see it in the off-season and sometimes during the season, we should see it in Madden. Trading draft picks, future draft picks, and multiple player/team trades (even the ability to trade a coach).

3) Accurate Statistics: Simply put, stats measure performance. For the QB rating to be missing in the game is unacceptable. All of the stats we are familiar with should be available for us to breakdown and analyze.

4) More seasons (Up to 30): With only 10 seasons available, there is not a lot of potential to develop players (draft picks) and for there to be a lot of turnover throughout the franchise with organizations going through ups and downs and such. The majority likely wouldn't get to 30yrs, but it should be made possible especially if regular games are simulated just to play the playoffs.

If you agree and have ideas, please add to it so we can get our requests updated through the server. The way EA developed it is great and has lots of potential and if handled properly, I know many of us would play until Aug 2010.

I think first and foremost sliders should be in.

then, what the heck were they thinking leaving out QB rating? why not leave out avg yards per rush while your at it? seriously was the math too hard for you guys?

I agree that all these aspects are very important to the users that plan to really battle through the years in an online franchise mode. If the theme is truly going to be "everything you see on Sundays" then you can't be missing key features like a salary cap, computer trade logic, and free agency. The decisions that are made during the offseason and Mon-Sat also effect what you see on Sundays. I've always started my franchises with the fantasy draft.....so the salary cap is a key component b/c it determines whom you draft in a lot of ways. The deeper you get into the franchise the more these missing features are going to adversely effect the overall experience. If the pass rush is as bad in the retail version as it is in the demo there will also be a strong need for the sliders to be put into the online franchise as well. Hopefully the above mentioned points won't be that difficult to implement so I am really hoping that EA can correct these things sooner rather than later.

Agreed. As much as I will like playing online franchise mode. Most of the time I will spend offline franchise mode even more. But simple fact. The salary and these other things you request will not be added on until madden 11. So you mind aswell sit back and enjoy this year online. It ain't going to be that bad.

Re: Request to EA to start adding to Online Franchise

Based on what Ian and Co. have stated, additions/changes can be made to Online Franchise via the server. So it's not unreasonable to request the additions/changes I've posted. Therefore, there is no need to wait until Madden 11. Ian and Co have stated that is one of the benefits of the way they built Online Franchise. So how about we have more support for the additions to be implemented as it will make a good online experience a great one!

I agree with this all the way! The off-season and weekly activities greatly affect Sundays! The salary cap has a huge effect on the way players are drafted, especially for Fantasy Drafts. For example, Peyton Manning would be drafted by teams in the 2nd round before because his salary was too high to be picked in the 1st round. And in the later rounds if your cap room was too low, certain players, especially high profile rookies couldn't be selected because they were making too much $$. This all adds to the strategy and yearly management of building and sustaining a winning organization. Additions like the salary cap, free agency, and cpu trade logic are big features that need to be implemented online immediately.
