Madden 10 referees are ghosts?

I am both impressed by the Madden 10 videos and the demos I've played and a bit worried also. (Gotta report both the good and the bad, right?)

They have a lot of really nice videos over at IGN of Madden 10 that were just posted in the last few days that you can look at and gawk over, but this one has me wondering if the referees they put back in Madden 10 are ghosts.

Check out this video posted about 3 days ago at IGN at about the :59 mark as one referee runs nonchalantly through, not over a Vikings player on the ground to make the TD call, and then about 5 seconds later, Joseph Addai turns and without hesitating at all, walks straight through the other "ghost" referee.

Are "Ian and the Tweakers" aware of this I hope?

Yea i know when you run into a ref they'll just get hit and fall over but your momentum wont be impeded. Im POSITIVE had they not of gone this route, the first person who was knocked over by a ref would be on here screaming about horrible AI. This is better until the Madden community matures(which is more than likely never.)

I'm sure they will fix it for next year, atleast they have refs now.

Earlier this year we were told teh ref's fall over when you run into them. I bet the NFL had something to do with them taking that out

The refs still fall over....they just dont impact your speed/momentum when you hit them.....Its funny to see a replay where my WR runs into a ref while running his route and the ref gets owned

Exactly... it's just nice to see them on the field now. There's only room for improvement now, they only got a year.

IMO ghost refs are the way to go.
You still see them, they still can hide defensive players behind them (which I hate in the 1 min demo vs the cowboys in the SNOW)

And as said b4, If a ref knocks you down in a game you would be the 1st person talking about it on the forums.....So imo its great the way it is
