Custom school question

Hello everyone,

I am debating whether to get this game or not and had a quick question for ya'll. Do you all find the "Create a school" feature to be worth it? Any kinks or major things wrong with it? I have last year's game and usually get every other years but I think I would really like to create a school online and play with that school. Just wanted to get all of your takes on what you thought of this in the actual game.

Thank you all for your time!!! I greatly appreciate it!

Re: Custom school question

I think TeamBuilder is awesome. I created my former highschool, got it's logo and everything on the helmet...true custom logos. It's what I've wanted forever! It's a great feature, cooler than I thought it'd be.

Re: Custom school question

I've been very impressed with the number of options in Teambuilder. I usually use USC, but I was so impressed with the quality of the look of my created CSULB team, I rolled with it instead and have really enjoyed it. Logos look crisp, team looks as good as any in the game.

Plus it was fun to create the team on the website.

Few issues like some names of players showing up as XXXXX, but you can fix that in-game.

Re: Custom school question

Teambuilder is the only reason I didn't pass on NCAA 10. I created my school on every version of the PS2 and was sorely disappointed when I upgraded to next-gen in 08 and it wasn't there. Glad I didn't hold my breath for 09. I am having a ball with it. I have 120 slots (yeah I bought them) so I am filling them with my created schools and the best versions I can find on TB. The logos look very good on the game and the uni's transfer nicely. Even the stadiums and fields come across well. Although some stadiums still hold alot of signage from the original design it still has a sort of home-field feeling for your squads. I enjoy this very much.

Re: Custom school question

Teambuilder is not without its flaws but for a first attempt it is very ambitious and exceeded my expectations; like a few other people said, it's the main reason I bought NCAA 10.

And the flaws (rivalries, equipment bug, impact/captains bug) are really minor. The only gripe i have is not being able to edit equipment outside of dynasty and that one wouldn't be an issue if not for the equipment bug.

Re: Custom school question

If your Xbox 360 has a constant connection to the internet or it is easy (hassle free) ro connect your xbox 360 to the internet, you will enjoy teambuilder.

The reason I say that is because you don't just need the internet to download schools. If you are using custom logos for your team, you will need to be connected to the internet so that the authorization site can make sure you are being a good boy and not using a logo that they don't want you to use. If you are not connected to the internet when you load a team with custom logos, the logos will show up as big EA logos.

Re: Custom school question

The positives are stated above. I have yet to really get into Team Builder. The concept is great, and before getting the game, thought it would be a feature I used a lot. Thus far, I haven't. Neither team I've downloaded - Alabama or Georgia Southern - has shown up accurately in the game. Logos don't show properly, Crimson Tide comes up XXXXX and certain player names don't show properly. Your impact players and depth charts seem random. Thus, the commentary for those teams becomes limited in the game. You also can't edit equipment for your teams unless you're in Dynasty Mode.

Now, having said that, EA is trying to correct the issues with team and player names. Hopefully the will continue to develop the web applet for team builder that will expand player editing. If that's done, then the features potential will be realized.
