Georgia Tech

Not really a fan but heard ome people talking about how they only have different variations of the flexbone for their offense and how it was very option heavy. I have to say i played a game with them and it was fun as hell to play with them. all the motion and misdirection and options were just flat out fun to run with. The only thing is i dont think they would be good for online due to their lack of a shotgun for passing downs to tame the wild manual pass rush. that and you would really have to play ball control to avoid getting into a shoot out where you have to score and score quickly. But damn they were fun to play with. i might have to try that play book out with a different team that runs an option style offense,

Re: Georgia Tech

Shotgun isn't needed for georgia tech's playbook.

The main thing that makes Georgia Tech's playbook so good is the versatility. The option passes are AMAZING when you are facing someone who is running a defense that mixes in different looks well.

I can't tell you how many times I've run an option pass play to have the D bite and go deep to a wide open receiver.

Re: Georgia Tech

well you need shotgun in this game on 3rd and long if you are coming from under center the blitz will happen and you can get the ball off but you cant actually make a read and get the ball off.

Re: Georgia Tech

YES!!! I absolutely love the option playbooks in this years game. It feels like I'm actually running an option offense. It would be nice if they had some shotgun. I guess if we were to have that then we would be able to have custom playbooks...let me say that again...CUSTOM PLAYBOOKS

Re: Georgia Tech

You don't need shotgun to fight a heavy blitz. If you think you're going to have the LBs gunning at you put a receiver on a shallow slant (usually on blitzes they will be wide open in the middle with mainly the safeties to worry about after the catch).

Again it is a risk you would take if ur in a 3rd n long situation but I find if I feel a blitz coming and just alter the play to suit that, I can get the gain I need. Not to mention the LB blitz gets owned by the option pass plays where you can run the ball if you see an outside blitz coming or you can pass if you see an inside blitz coming.

Re: Georgia Tech

........and if Tech had a shotgun formation in 10, it wouldn't be their offense.

Re: Georgia Tech

Yeah buddy you do not need shotgun formation with this offense, the option passes are perfect for this offense.
