Any news on when 2k will be releasing info???

I'm ready to compare and see what both companies have to offer. I really love Live's chances and aggressive approach this yr. But I won't count out 2k just yet, though I must admit silence scares me. As if they are NOT confident. Just my opinion ladies and gentlemen. But as the title says, any news coming??? Did anyone hear anything??? (Great yr to be a fan of the NBA ppl)

No word on when 2K will be releasing info, but every year that I've been following (and in my first year following the info circuit, I kept hearing "2K always does this..."), it seems that 2K releases concrete info starting in late August. Keep your ears open, though, because occasional hints are dropped. OS usually gets the game sometime in September, and by the 3rd week of September (about 3 weeks until release), you'll have more than enough info. Don't worry about info; the game still releases October 6, and no amount of information will make that come quicker.

Now to the rest of your post... what has Live done to make you think that they are more confident? They haven't announced any new features, but there have been a couple of blurry videos and 3 screens. That's about it. From the community interaction, all I know is that there will be signature arc types. 2K will work now and release info later, not to show a lack of confidence though, because by then, it will be about a month from release and we'll really be psyched for the game. Info in July does not affect anyone's purchases in October.

And 2K doesn't blog (or not that I know of), so I assume they're busy working on the game.

Indeed, the lack of information from 2k thus far says nothing about the potential quality of the game. However, EA releasing information and interacting with the community does help to build excitement for the game. 2k is taking a dangerous approach by simply thinking they will build a better game and release info sooner to launch. The whole point is that marketing is critical to business success. They need to get better at it. If EA manages to continue building hype, they may siphon off more consumers each year then 2k will wonder what happened.
