Wrestler of the Decade

It's almost over, so who you got?

Tough to choose. In the 80s, there were three guys you could make a strong case for (Flair, Hogan & Jumbo) and the 90s had no less than four (Bret, HBK, Austin & Misawa). The 00s? Nobody had more than really a dominating 2 or three year run.

I've kicked names around my head, but I don't think I can pick one...

John Cena: Top North American star...great run of main events from '06-'07...no questioning the fact he's the most over wrestler here

Shawn Michaels: Had a nearly three strecth where it seemed he never had a bad match...involved some of the decade's best matches and feuds

Triple H: Top guy in WWE at the start of the decade and remains one of them today...great match after great match...leader of the only stable that mattered in years...influential backstage and can make or break a career with three words "he can't work"

Kenta Kobashi: A dominating two year run from '03-'05...was really the only wrestler in Japan that mattered until he went down to cancer

Kurt Angle: Great matches...Huge influence on the more workrate friendly style of WWE midway through the decade...seems like he's about to breakdown but then pulls off a great match

Chris Benoit: Seemed to never have a bad match...Countless great matches even when he was on Velocity...Big influence along with Angle...biggest mainstream wrestling story of the modern era...killed the huge momentum WWE had in '07

Edge: All around best performer in North America from '06 on...WWE's top heel...an actual draw

Bryan Danielson: Reagrded by many as the finest in ring performer...Great matches within all styles...top guy in America's number three promotion...unquestionable draw at the indy level

Perosnally, I lean toward Cena. But he's not a blow away candidate and the best reason I have is "just beacause". Really all these guys have negatives so it's hard.

I would say Triple H Hands Down. Some of those guys had a good run, but he has basically been a top 3 wrestler this whole decade rather than just a few years

Personally, I'd go with The Undertaker. Other guys to consider for the list would be Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, and Chris Jericho.

I messed up not mentioning Rey.

You picking Taker shows just how wide open this is. There's not much negative that can be said about him that wouldn't apply to any of the other contenders.

Re: Wrestler of the Decade

No Randy Orton? I understand why you didn't put him up there but if it was my list he'd be up there, my favorite wrestler or not. Well I started watching wrestling again about 3 years ago, I think, and the first match I saw was John Cena vs some dude I forget and he became my favorite wrestler for a while then when I saw Randy Orton and it switched real fast. Anyways I would have to say John Cena.

Re: Wrestler of the Decade

It's John Cena hands down. This is coming from a natural Cena *****. Thanks for shoving him down our throats, Vince.
