Icon12 HD tip

I'm assuming most or all of you have already figured this out, but if you're dazed and confused like me here it goes...
Yesterday, for the first time I changed the "entertainment" setting on my TV. By default it goes to "game" setting when playing PS3. I changed it to "sports" instead and...WOW! The colors came alive like never before! Even the sound is more realistic and authentic. I flicked it back to what it was before and I can't believe the diff. From what I heard you're supposed to play on the "game" setting because it is optimized for gaming and otherwise the screen will lag a bit. Not true at all in my case. It's 100% better looking with no lag whatsoever. I'm sure results vary from TV to TV, but it's worth a shot. This game keeps looking better and better........

Is this for LCD TVs only? I have a 50" Toshiba Plasma, and I don't have any inputs like that - there's 8 inputs such as DVD, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, TV, etc...but nothing like what you're talking about. Which is why I'm wondering if it's just LCD TV that have these options.

Many TV's have different out of the box picture settings like this. Or you can get an HD calibration disk, customize your settings to best fit your room setup as a lot depends on how much light and what kind you typically have in your room. This is the best looking game I've had on my 133" projection screen (Sony RS-10 projector). The colors pop, the lighting is excellent and the attention to detail is amazing. Anyway, sorry for the tangent. Glad you discovered some preferred picture settings.

Re: HD tip

He means color settings....although I have no idea how changing the picture mode would improve your sound. Placebo effect going on....my TV (Panasonic 50" plasma) has a THX mode, but it's more for watching movies in darkness so I just use the game mode.
