Do you think Madden 2010 will out sell Madden 09

I think madden 2010 will out sell madden 09, because the marketing of madden 2010 is better. I feel they are making this game for people who actually care about football. madden 09 to me was made for people who were causal football fans. People who didn't really care that much about football, they took madden 09 and dumb the game down to make it easy for everyone. For example, I let my girlfriend try the madden IQ test and she has never played madden before then and she got all madden for the running back drill, then I knew the game was a joke. They took all the hard stuff away like the vision cone and add things like that crap where you could redo a play,I forgot the name of it, but if things were not going your way you could redo it. You can't redo a play in the NFL if you made a mistake, so why could you in sim football video game. You can see the improvements in madden 10 videos, you can see they listened to people who really care about football. Tell me what you guys think.

I predict Madden 10 will outsell Madden 09 in the first month, if for no other reason than there are a lot more people with 360s and PS3s this year than last. This will allow some puffery press release from Peter Moore, saying how the increase in sales is a tribute to how hard the Madden staff worked.

How it holds up after the first month will depend on the quality of the game. In each of the last 3 years, the sales after the first month have declined from the year before. That's when we don't hear anything more from Peter Moore.

Yea... the hype for this year is insane. EA Tiburon is under a lot more pressure than last year. I believe it will be the basis on how well Madden does in the coming years.

If Madden '10 flops (which I don't think it will), then the fan outcry will be insane.

I agree 100% with this statement. Don't judge the sales until about 3 months after release. They always have some big initial hype train touting sales because it's the only football game out. Seriously sales don't mean anything for this game because the customer base has already been clearly established. The real proof is in the ratings it receives from UNBIASED game review sites.

If Madden really is as good as advertsized, I think Madden 10 Could easily double the sales of Madden 09. The Best advertising a game can get is word of mouth, that Is why Call of Duty 4:MW sold so well. Great reviews and advertising only goes so far, When someone goes to their friends house and plays an amazing game, they will go out and buy it.

The real question is how many Madden 10 copies will be traded in before the end of the year for other games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?

Yes. I think EA has gotten some good will with all the community interaction. Online Franchise is big, and will draw in a lot of people, and like with NCAA last year reviewers will love it. I think a lot of guys who usually buy NCAA will opt for Madden instead this year as well. Plus the game just looks like it will be better.
