For some reason I don't think he ends up in Boston. I can see the Mets, Tigers, or Reds going after him if they're still in it in a few weeks.

Boston won't give up the prospects Beane would want in a deal for him. Boston's farm system is top heavy, making it hard for them get a rental type of player because they have few mid-level prospects. Most GM's only want to talk about their three B's, Masterson and Lars Anderson. As a result, I don't expect the Red Sox to make a big trade. Something like the proposed Delcarmen for Nick Johnson seems more likely.

As for Holliday, nothing comes to mind. The Mets would probably take him but I don't know what they have that would interest Beane. Maybe the Tigers? It wouldn't shock me if Beane hangs onto him and just takes the draft picks when Holliday signs with another club. The only teams that will give up much value are ones that think Holliday puts them over the top, and I just don't see a team fitting that description at this moment in time.

I don't see the Reds going after him. Not that I would mind, but I just don't see us making any moves if we didn't make hardly any in the off season.
