Icon5 Pitch Meter-Stop 2 Early?

I've been wondering for a while if there is any difference if you stop the meter just before the yellow or right on the yellow. For my pitchers with a super quick delivery out of the stretch I do this quite often because I find it next to impossible to stop the meter in a particular spot. Either I stop it before or let it go all the way (for max break). Is the pitch a little easier to read if you stop it before? Any thoughts on this are appreciated, thanks.

Actually that is a good thing. If you stop it before and there is a lefty batting and you are pitching RH, it will move the ball from inside the lefty and come back in to the inside corner. You can throw all sortsmof good pitches if you know where to stop the meter.

Yeah, the meter frustrates the hell out of me. I'll hit my spot and try to throw a ball somplace and I'll do what I think is perfect, and it is prefect, perfectly down the middle of the plate belt high and it will end perfectly in some kids lap 10 rows back. I've given up trying to understand the meter.

Could you explain this a little more? I kind of get it, but aren't you talking about a 2-seam fastball? Or is that a general rule for any type of pitch in RHP vs lefty hitter? What I'm really wondering is is there a big difference between stopping the meter before the yellow or right on it or 1/16" after the yellow (still not orange/red). Personally I feel like there is a small disadvantage by hitting before the yellow. It's easier therefore it should penalize you a little. I dunno, that's how I see it.

Lol, I have found stopping just before the line is actually better which is goofy. I have hit the meter accuracy dead on and experience the same crap as you mentioned. Maybe that is why so many people play with the other pitching method. I may switch to that my next frachise if I ever play another one.

I agree moemoe. Hitting it dead on is not always the best thing to do interestingly.

I also find this to be true. But what I've noticed is that all pitchers don't react the same way to the same release point. Take Oliver Perez. I found out that his breaking pitches are way more accurate when I DON'T hit the line, usually right before, when I place the ball EXACTLY where I want it. And someone like Johan Santana is deadly accurate hitting the line almost all the time(until he gets tired,of course),but I have to adjust the ball placement slightly before the pitch. I think it's a great way to seperate the aces from the other pitchers.

Re: Pitch Meter-Stop 2 Early?

So there is a difference between hitting before or right on? Can anyone be clear as to how it's different? Is it just more precise?
