Pitcher Energy

Pitcher with 97 Stamina rating.

I have my Starter Stamina slider at -1 (4).

Normally, if I pitched the game out, he would be gassed by the seventh inning at the latest. Gassed = his energy bar would be almost empty.

Today, I simmed to the seventh inning with the guy. He's thrown 109 pitches, and his energy bar is half-full.

Me confused.

Re: Pitcher Energy

I've noticed this, as well. I think it has to do with how often you let the pitch meter max out (the Red) or go into the mid-range (the yellow).

I am a little short on RP so I converted C stamina guys into relief pitchers, thus making all of my starters A or B stamina. After playing a few games where they were spent by the 4th, I increased the SP stamina slider to 7. Next game, my B stamina guy was pooped by the 5th (70 pitches or so), so I increased it again to 10. Everything was good-- my pitchers were able to get 80+, except that I noticed that the CPU's pitchers had a 100%-75% energy bar. I did a little looking around, and it seems that the red and yellow areas on the meter have a significant effect on stamina.

Can someone verify this for me?

I thought that the game was designed to tire by inning and not pitch count and since I was running up counts on both sides I was doing something the game couldn't account for so I increased the slider. I don't think that's the answer.

@ chuckm1961

goes back to what I, Knight, RazR, Jason_19 and a few others have beentelling you all a million times since the day '09 was released...the stamina attributes in 99.9% of the starters, is wayyyyy overplayed....

a quick look over in my notes...these are the only starters I have at 90 or above...and it all works out perfectly for me.

Halladay
Webb
Cliff Lee
Oswalt
Lackey
Kelvim Escobar (going by 2007; since he was out in 2008)
Johan Santana
C.C. Sabathia
James Shields
