I want to dump Manny--suggestions?

After the PFD controversy, I want Manny off the roster. Because of his talent, I can pretty much send him to any team for a good player, but I want to be realistic about the trade.

Which teams, in your opinion, would be interested in Manny? He's got a $16 million salary, but could provide a good boost to a high payroll club, or ticket sales to a mid-market club.

In terms of compensation, I'm torn between looking for the same position and a middle of the order bat, or going with a speedy defensive type b/c of playing in a pitcher's park. I've also thought about trading for prospects.

If you want to be realistic you would keep him, like the dodgers will do.

But to your question, Mets, Angels, Red Sox, Yankees are the high payroll teams that can afford him would take him.

Edit: You could also bury him on your AA club and keep him from reaching anymore milestones.

As a Phillies fan, I'd do Marson, Carrasco and Ibanez for Manny. If you would rather have Ryan Madson over Ibanez throw in James McDonald.

The Phillies can afford him. Hell, they let Pat the Bat walk for fear of paying a subpar player 10 mil. Then they turned around and paid a subpar player 10 mil. Adam Dunn was out there and Manny was out there.

That said, would the Phillies ever do this deal? No, and especially not now that they have justified their small market approach by winning a World Series.

You are a complete idiot if you really think the guy who is leading the Majors in home runs and the NL in RBIs is subpar. And if you are a Phillies fan, no way you do that trade.

No I'm saying trade a #2 who people think is a #1, a good catching prospect and sell high on a guy have a career year that turns 37 years old on June 2 who you mistakenly signed to a three year 30 million dollar deal.

If you are even entertaining the notion that Ibanez is or ever was Manny Ramirez on his worst day, you are mistaken.

Although, having spent all of the years of my life in Philadelphia, I knew Manny wouldn't be allowed to put the P on for a lot of reasons.
