Cool easiest way to avoid a takedown?

i was wondering if someone can give me some tips on how to avoid a takedown. It seems even when i know its coming and im backing up i still get taken down.

I know by pressing lb+a or b i can throw a knee but thats almost impossible to time but when i get it the match is basically over tho.

Anyone wanna gimme some tips on how to avoid a takedown in an easier way????

Well moving backwards doesn't really do anything, unless you manage to move back quick enough so they miss completely.

I've only got the demo - but playing as Liddell, I pick my shots more carefully, and I'm preemptively holding the RS back. Other than that - pick someone good at avoiding takedowns, and just spin the stick really fast when they shoot.

Oh - and practice the knee. Playing the demo now, I've KO'd Rua 3 times in 6 matches with the knee when he was going for the takedown. Just learn to time it.

Yep, hold RS back whenever you think they're gonna shoot but quickly move to rotating the stick as soon as you see them actually contacting you and you should be able to avoid most takedowns.

I'm also speaking just from the demo... I was playing against Rua last night on Expert and stuffed probably 75% of his takedowns... you just gotta make sure you're not swinging too much or he'll keep shooting over and over and eventually get you when you can't defend yourself.

I don't want to come off like a *** saying this. BUT, I know most of what I learned was spent doing the tutorials and spending time with the demo.

I don't want to help out people to much because I want to pound you in the cage

Practice and the tutorials they are your friend

I have a feeling that this is a game where if you don't practice, you're going to get killed - as opposed to a lot of games where you can just kind of know the controls and get by just fine. If someone doesn't know how to block or reverse transitions and what not - they're just going to get screwed.

I actually dont spin the stick, i keep jamming it back really fast, works like a charm for me.
