Madden 2010 scares me?

It sounds and looks so promising but we've been down this road before with EA and i hope they learned over the years that you can have the greatest game ever made but if there's so many bugs and glitches that it kills the game then that is a problem. I know they can always patch things up but for once i'd like to see a game that will not need a patch and is great out of the box. No sports franchise has done that yet on the next gen systems and i'm hopeing Madden 10 is the first. So hopefully it goes through a lengthy and hard qa process before release and if there problems by all means please delay it til you get it right as it will save alot of problems for everyone and just so you know i now buy all my sports video games 2-3 weeks after release just so i don't waste $60 on game thats flawed and if everyone followed me in this there would be less flaws with these games. The potential is there, i just pray it reaches it.

I understand your skepticism and its fair. We just gotta hope thgis new approach that they are taking with the community involvement pays off, and think it will.

From a 2K gamer's perspective, I don't think 2010 is going to deliver everything the player's want. In fact, I know it won't, there are already too many things that Ian has said won't be in it. However, I do think it's a step in the right direction, and in another year or two that Madden may actually be a pretty darn good game of football. If they really want to lure potential new customers, then they are going to have to bite the bullet at some point and fix whatever is making their animations look so herky jerky. It's the first thing 2K'ers notice when they play the game. It's the one thing that continues to ruin the immersion for them.

I think that you should be hopeful of this year's Madden and give EA Sports a chance. You haven't even played the game yet!

I thought I was hopeful? They have already provided a pretty big list of what's in and what's not. There are basic things missing (momentum, physics, better locomotion, active sidelines, animation/rendering) that still have to be addressed. Reread what I posted the first time, and look for the positives. They are there.

That is why i'm very worried is that they know that there's gonna be bugs and glitchs but they need to be kept at a minimum. This is what the 4th year on next gen and it's time to see progress. I think it's very bad when a company puts out a game knowingly with all kinds of flaws, ala MLB The SHOW 09, because they have a deadline, the thing is i think here is to send and advanced copy or beta to a few people in this community let give feedback and if the game needs to be delayed 2-6 weeks whatever to make sure it's ok to play off the shelf then thats what needs to happen. Video games are the only industry that gets away with this and it needs to stop!
