Season/Career mode

How is the career/season mode in this game? What features does it have? How long is it? Is there a lot of things in it that makes the mode realistic? When you start do you start as your created player or a professional golfer?

If your talking about Tiger Woods I am interested in this as well.

Is it a system where you act as if you are on the tour ? With Regular Tournaments and Majors. I am trying to hold out for the new one because it looks like the Tournament stuff is really good with more fans etc but if the Season Mode in the current version is good I may just get it because of cost.

I haven't had a gold game since the PS2 and was always a little let down by the Career Mode and haven't gotten it since the PS3.

Just curious people's thoughts as well.

No idea at this point, but there is an all new Tiger Challenge that seems to be very compelling this year. I will also state that the online play for TW10 looks to be an additional Season Mode to go along with offline season mode. If the new online season mode is as compelling than the offline or moreso, I doubt I will waste time with the offline season mode which has been the majority of my playing time in TW08/09....

Thanks DivotMaker. Question then since you said you spent the majority of your time in 08/09 in season mode how is it ?

How closely does it emulate a real golf season ? Do you have to play in every tournament ? Does it differenitiate between Majors and Just Regular Tournaments ? And if so how ? Does it just have more money avaialable at the Majors ? Also are there season rankings or a moneyleader board ? Anything about season mode would be greatly appreciated.

I personally don't get into Challenge Modes and things like that where you try to recreate and beat events that have already happened so I don't think for me the Tiger Challenge holds a lot of interest. I also don't play online so it's really only offline.

The biggest problem with the offline career mode last year was that you didn't play with any other golfers. You could go into the final round of a tournament tied with three other golfers but they wouldn't play in a foursome with you. You would just see their scores on a scoreboard. Kind of kills the drama.

It was kind of like playing a baseball game without seeing the other team bat.

They did get rid of the rubber band mode last year (where other players scores would be influenced by what you shot. If you shot below par, they would shoot below par; if you shot above par; they would all shoot above par) so hopefully, they've corrected this problem as well.

My main issue with the career mode is that it gets really boring and pointless after you win a few tournaments. The money becomes meaningless and there are no goals or challenges to keep you interested. It gets boring playing the same courses again and again - and it doesn't utilize the DLC courses to add variety.

This is one my main issues with the career mode. You should have AI golfers playing with you in the tournaments and don't know why they would leave that out.
