How many play without palyers declaring early for the draft??

Just wondering if anyone doesn't let players declare early, and also how often and how many players leave early when you allow them to? Are they only the top 10 or so who do leave early?

Re: How many play without palyers declaring early for the draft??

I always play with players leaving early, it is going to suck this year, my stud center, SG, and PG are all underclassmen and I think they will all leave this season. Next season my leader will be a Junior PF, and a sophmore SF

Can't you just save right before they declare, and keep restarting and simulating at that point until one time they don't all declare? I feel like this would still be an easy way to avert the players from leaving early, without actually setting it so they can't. At least I would be tempted to do that :P

In my 6th season I have yet to have a player leave early. However, if there was ever a player to go it will be at the end of my current season. I have a JR PG that is an 89 overall and projected as a lottery pick. With the kind of season I'm having perhaps he should go 12-6 with a team rated 92 overall - not pretty.

Even though you have yet to have a player leave early, do you know about how many other players leave early each season?

Several players leave early. I think 2 or 3 left from the Big Ten alone in my previous season.

Re: How many play without palyers declaring early for the draft??

For starters, I'll just say that I don't know why you'd want to prevent people from leaving early. It's a very real part of college basketball, and I feel that not nearly enough people leave early to make it realistic.

I keep track of stuff like this and here are my numbers from a couple different legacies. For the 1st dynasty I forced more people to leave early because, as I said before, by default, not nearly enough people leave early. I force them to leave early like this:
At the end of the season (after the championship game, but before offseason stuff) I'll change all 87+ OVR SRs to be ~60. This means there are less quality SRs so more JRs, SOs, and the occasional FR will leave early.

The year is the year these players were HS SRs. The class I list after the year is how many left after that year. These numbers are only for 5*s as I don't track anyone else. With the patch, there are 25 5*s per year.
(IE. below, for the 2007-08 HSAAs, none left after their FR or SO years while 8/25 left after their JR year).
Legacy 1 (where I forced more people to leave early).
2007-08: JR-8, SO-0, FR-0
08-09: JR-16, SO-4, FR-0
09-10: J-10, S-0, F-0
10-11: J-12, S-5, F-0
11-12: J-8, S-1, F-0
12-13: J-no data, S-5, F-0
13-14: J-no data, S-no data, F-1 (!!!!!! FINALLY got a FR to leave early!)

Legacy 2 (where I didn't change any ratings to make people leave earlier)
07-08: J-1, S-0, F-0 (YUCK!)
08-09: J-no data, S-2, F-0
09-10: J-no data, S-no data, F-0

EDIT:
And, for me personally, in that first legacy, I signed 10 HSAAs and only 6 of them made it to their SR seasons.

Re: How many play without palyers declaring early for the draft??

I had a 7'2" 5* PF I signed as an 85 OVR freshman with Cal. He had "A" potential, so I just knew he was going to leave early. I thought I'd be cute and redshirt him a year . . . he still declared. Eff my life.
