How come no one is turning base running speed down?

Seems like very few are turning the base running speed down in their slider sets which is surprising to me.

Seems like most are turning down fielder run speed, reaction time, and arm strength...which I agree with.

But if you turn down all of those the default base running speed now seems (and looks IMO) a bit too fast. And you are having slower runners beat out dp's and such.

Just wondered the overall consensus on this.

Because the whole goal of turning down those things is to eliminate the in the gap diving plays, and then throwing them out at first or turning double plays that are diving plays.

That's why (just like in real life) you freeze the runners half way inbetween bases till you know if the ball drops or not.

But anyway now that you are lowering those "diving" plays by lowering fielder run speed. Shouldn't the base running speed come down some to compensate?

I mean you have the base runners, running a lot faster than the fielders.

Not meaning to sound stupid cause it may to some, but a player just simply sprinting is much faster than a player going after a ground ball or ball in no mans land.

Yea I gotcha. But just by lowering fielder run speed/reaction time/arm strength, many dp's in the infield are now a lot closer and in some cases beaten out by the base runner (at default base running speed) when they shouldn't be.

If you lower arm strength, you lose that zip on your throws and some base runners are being called safe at first when they would realistically be out.

I agree but the players have long wind up animations for throwing. I think the developers made the throw strength as fast as they did to compensate for that.

Now that you are lowering it (with the long animations) runners have an unfair advantage.

I do not believe that the throwing animations are that far off from a real players action, I just believe they have the throwing too high...try out my sliders and you'll see that it is way better gameplay like this...
