Exclamation Franchise freezing post-patch??

I'm not sure if anyone else is having this issue (by the time I got on here there were 14 pages of the patch topic to weed through) but my franchise appears to be ruined post-patch.

I booted up the game just now and installed the 1.06 patch no problem. The game starts up fine, and my franchise, settings and sliders all load normally. However, once in my franchise as soon as I go to 'Schedule' I get booted back to the ps3 dashboard. I've tried this with loading my settings/sliders and without but I get kicked out either way. This is really pissing me off as I've put a lot of time (about 40 games or so) into my franchise and I've never had an issue what so ever until now with the release of this patch. It's one thing if some of the fixes in the patch don't take effect unless I start a new franchise but I certainly don't want to be forced into starting a new one if I already have one well underway.

I know a few guys around here are even further into their franchises than I am so I guess this is mainly directed at you guys. Has anyone else had a similar problem or does anyone know what I can do about this?

My RTTS is doing the same thing - 6 seasons in.

I'm going to try deleting the patch and hope for the best.

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??

Are you still able to do everything else in your RTTS normally? It seems like I can make use of any of the other menus options but as soon as I go to my Schedule to play a game it's back to the dashboard for me..

same for me. i know that the patch actually does affect the saved franchises, which is good. but i had the same problem. someone has said that pressing "R2" is what triggerrs the boot. but still, there is no way i can play a franchise without ever touching it. im not sure how to fix this tho. it may have something to do with using old rosters in the franchise. apparently they were scratched with the new patch. the coding for the old rosters is no longer read by the ps3. this probably causes the boot, cuz we are playing with "non-existing" rosters

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??

I had this on the schedule page when I tried to switch to another team's schedule, but the problem was gone by the time I had advanced to the next day. Fortunately I was able to access my own team's schedule without any problems.

What do you mean by pressing R2? Like not pressing it while surfing around the menus?

I started this franchise with the sample version of Knight's rosters and like I said had zero problems with anything prior to this patch. I just deleted the patch and rebooted the game, ignoring the prompt to patch and now the game won't even get to the main menu, it just locks up on the loading screen..

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??

idk i just heard someone say that while in franchise, if you press the r2 trigger, that it causes the crash. im not sure if this is true, and actually as im writing this it just crashed and i didnt press r2 so never mind. that obviously doesnt trigger it

Re: Franchise freezing post-patch??

csker7: It's not from hitting R2 - I was staring at my television trying to figure out why the CPU completely skipped over a game in my RTTS when I got the crash - no way I hit R2. Your explanation seems logical enough, but if that's the case, that means no one can use the original game rosters and on top of that, knights rosters will have problems too.

adayinthelife: I can do everything else fine - I even played a game before I got the crash. Just the schedule screen for me as well.
