i can't pitch.. for the love of god i need help!!

i am the brewers, not much pitching to begin with, and i am getting shelled. i seem to have NO control over my pitches and most of the time they are left over the plate even when i am going with the catcher's suggestion. if it isn't a ball, it is a wild pitch!!!

is there some secret i am missing out on here? i try to mix it up by not filling the circle meter all the way with yellow, but that doesn't help either.

when i don't use the catcher suggestion, i get rocked anyway.


can someone give me some tips? i am to the point where i think i need some e-steriods!!!!

Your pitches will be wild if you don't do the pitching gestures (right stick motions) properly. You can turn down the Gesture Recognition slider in the difficulty settings to make it easier. There is also a practice mode. You should go there are read the help tutorials to make sure you are doing everything properly.

I had the same problems and I was getting rather annoyed because I had mastered the system in last year's game. I found that turning down the pitch meter speed helped me get used to the movements and the pitch recognition slider is also your friend. As you get better slowly bring the sliders back up. Once you master it you'll love it. I think its a brilliant control scheme.

PS. I know the meatball has been taken out of this year's game but do many people here feel that the result is just the same? Eg. If you completely fail at a gesture then the ball just floats over the middle of the plate and gets pummeled. I haven't seen very many wild pitches but I have been taken over the wall many times after screwing up the gestures. Its not a major gripe I was just wondering what others were experiencing.

If i miss a gesture i know it has a chance to be a ball, ususally on up and in fastballs i will hit the batter. This year, pitching is alot better imo. With all the problems the game does have, pitching imo is a strong point.

Yeah I totally agree, I just haven't seen many wild pitches. 2K is really onto something with this pitching system. It makes you feel in control.

Yeah, most of the time when I screw up, it goes over the heart of the plate and the AI smashes it. That's fine sometimes, but I'd like to see it go wild out of the zone sometimes too. I hope they fine tune it for next year.

I also wish the pitcher's control ratings came into play more. The way it is now, even with a "wilder" pitcher, you can still nail the corners simply by nailing the gestures.

Just curious, what are your user pitching sliders set on? Gesture?
