42

You guys know what it means. Today's the day. Good to see all those 42s out there on the field. Once Mariano Rivera retires (or god forbid leaves the Yankees) that will be the last 42 ever worn.
Thanks Jackie , and all the others, who made it possible for me and others to at least have a shot at our dreams, even if it may still not be a fair one.

Re: 42

I'm so confused. I can't tell who is who with everyone wearing the same number.

Re: 42

The only complaint I have about this day is this: (correct me if i'm wrong)

In all the years MLB has been doing their Jackie Robinson day have they ever had a ceremony in LA? I ask this because Robinson was a Dodger. You'd think they'd have a ceremony involving the team that he played in. I know the Mets are the closest thing to the Brooklyn Dodgers that we got today as the fans of the Mets are pretty much of the same strata and in the same area as Brooklyn fans were. Still, it would be nice if they did something with the Dodgers rather then the Mets.

Other then that it's great that they honor such an important day not only in baseball but in the fabric of 20th century life.

I think they did it last year in LA, I'm not 100% sure though.
