Just found out something cool in Career Legacy

For all of you who to choose to run a Career Legacy to gain attribute points as a coach but your favorite "small, mid-major/low-major" team just doesn't quite make the cut for the list of schools available then check this out....(ps3 btw)

I was messing around in the "Quick Game" menu. Find your team and hit the triangle button to bring up "Adjust Lineup". Then select "Situational Lineups". There u are able to edit your starting five with your bench players. Selecting your weaker reserves lowers your team overall rating. Hit the O button to get back to the matchup Quick Game screen and you'll notice the Overall Rating for your team. You want it 69 or lower. Then u just have to go to the Game Modes menu to get to Career Legacy and you should see your team in the pool of teams.

That IS pretty cool, but an easier workaround would be to just choose an Open Legacy and you get be any team you want. The biggest difference between the two, besides the choices of teams available is that you can edit players in an Open, but not in the Closed (Career), from what I have read on here.

Re: Just found out something cool in Career Legacy

Yea but when in Open Legacy you acquire the record of the previous coach for career wins and losses. There are 28 coaches that haven't "coached" a Div 1 game so one could always go that route for a "clean slate" record wise.

I've played both career and open legacies and they each have their pros and cons...

I prefer closed. Nothing like getting a job offer that you actually earned.

What does getting a job offer that you actually earned have to do with closed legacies? Are you saying that starting out in a closed legacy with northern colorado and then getting offered the air force job is somehow different than starting out in an open legacy with northern colorado and getting offered the air force job?

In terms of going from job to job (even starting at the smallest, crappiest school, and then after many years getting offered a power conference job) there's no difference between closed and open legacies. They both have the same coaching carousel and they both have the same coach progression in terms of gaining coaching attribute points for doing well.

I don't know about on the PS3, but with the 360 version, your coach's stats are maxed out to begin with in open legacy.

when you first start, you can max out your coaches stats aswell as make him a "F" rating....when you actually start the legacy, the coach progress normal

Oh. That is neat. Is there any way to zero out the coach's record?
