I wish this franchise did not end with 2K8

I loved NCAA 2K back from 2K3 on XBox...and all the way thru the 360 years...but 2K8 just did not feel right to me; the guys get stuck in the trap way too easily, and the shot releases just dont feel smooth.

Anywa, thats my vent; I wish this franchise ended on 2K7 or 2K6 (so when I go online to play I got a better product to run with).

I agree. Just think, if CH2k could of held on for one more year, it could of possibly had NBA2k9s revised engine.. wow, that'd be beautiful.

I personally am very, very glad that they came out with 2k8 as I find it vastly superior to 2k7.

I would agree with you on this. At 1st I was a little dissappointed with 2k8 and the more that I have played it I have grown to love the game. The depth is amazing the gameplay once I played it a while is great. 2k6 and 2k7 were great games 2k8 seems to be a complete game. A 2k9 or 2k10 would be amazing.

Having only played 2k8, what are some differences between it and 2k7? Is the recruiting/legacy just that much deeper??

The biggest difference that stood out for me was how overpowered team unity was when it first came out in 2K7. There were tons of small schools beating the powerhouses to win it all - and this was in the sim engine.

I remember testing with unity at different percentages and totally off too. It made no difference to the sim results. I'm happy that unity isn't so over the top in 2K8.

The ABL is also a nice edition, although I'd rather be able to play in a recruit's game like you were able to do in 2K3 or 2K4, I'm not sure which one.

I'm not sure if it made much difference, but when you scheduled a campus visit back in those older games, it was for the recruit to watch a game. If you won the game, his interest in your program would go up more.

And unless I am mistaken, isn't 2k8 the first (and only) version to include the NIT? Adds to the richness of the game and really extends March Madness. Plus the NIT is likely a more viable and attainable goal for those of us who choose a small school to run a legacy.

If you go over to the NBA 2K9 forum, there's alot of people complaining about the defense in that game this year. Too bad we just couldn't get updated courts, unis, 3 point line, etc.
