Hail To The Victors: 2009 Michigan Wolverines

Figured I would go ahead and get a thread started for the 2009 season since there are quite a few Wolverine fans on here. Since spring practice is going on might as well start the thread now.

Nick Sheridan is out for the spring with an injury, it would have been nice for him to get more time in practice. The only thing good to come of it is Tate getting more reps with the first team. Feagin actually getting some reps at QB, i`m sure its just for special run packages, because he still can not throw.

So far freshman running back Vincent Smith has looked good, some reports even saying that he would be the number 2 back right now. I wish Mike Shaw was not hurt so that he could get more reps. Kevin Grady still much of the same i don`t expect much out of him next year.

Hemmingway looks good this spring,Roy Roundtree has been playing some in the slot. Feagin also getting more practice in the slot. I`m excited to see what Terrance Robinson can do this year, i know before he got hurt last year he was set to get serious playing time. Oh yeah Tony Clemons has left the team. Also reading they would like to get Kevin Koger more involved in the offense this year. Martell Webb another TE is looking good this spring.

Believe it or not and i know it`s only spring but good reports on the Offensive line so far. It may have been our worst Offensive line unit in history but I think they do o.k. this year. We have everyone back from last year plus 6 red shirt freshman now competing for spots. Plus everyone now has year in the system under their belts. I would not be surprised to see the Offensive line be a real strength this year. A lot of good talk about Patrick Omameh.

Another thing i keep reading a lot is about how we will really start to see the benefits of having Mike Barwis this year. I know a lot of people could not see much difference in strength and conditioning last year. But it really takes a good year to start to see the changes in players. Mike Barwis is known to be one of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the business. A good example is Brandon Graham he was at one time under the old coaching staff 310 he is now at 265. I remember at one time their was talk of moving Brandon to defensive tackle under the old staff.

Re: Hail To The Victors: 2009 Michigan Wolverines

Looking at that schedule, there is no excuse for not winning six or more.
In the bag-Eastern, Western, Delaware
Lean UM-Indiana
Toss up-ND, MSU, Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa
Lean opp-PSU, OSU

I expect to see (obviously) a much improved team. If I give Michigan the in the bag matchups, the lean UM game, and half the toss ups, it puts us at 7 wins. Anything can happen, and this is way preseason, so obviously not super serious. What do my fellow Wolverines think?

^^^ I would definatly agree with that. The schedule sets up very nicely to get a decent amount of wins.

I'll be there. Trying to convince the friend I'm mooching a car ride off of to get there at 8:00 for the locker room tour. Not going well so far. I feel like a Michigan coach trying to recruit a kid from Detroit Southeastern.

I`ll be there right around 8 I actually wanted to get up there early enough so we could tailgate, but thanks to my d-bag of a boss I`m going to work till 5 in the morning day and have my brother pick me up at work. If I did not work 3rd shift that day i would have to work 6-2 on Saturday causing me to miss the whole thing.

Really looking forward to the locker room tour and the alumni flag football game should be fun just to see who all comes. Glad to see Rich Rod do something for the fans. I appreciate what Carr did for UM but he would have never ever done anything like this.

Lots of rumors about a big Forcier family reunion in Ann Arbor. Chris Forcier has received his release from UCLA and may come to Michigan to add QB depth, and Jason Forcier may actually return as a grad assistant.
