Check swing soarely missed

It's hard enough to hit online as is. I love hesitantly tapping the swing button and watching my guy check his swing. Now no matter how much i tap the button, everything is a full swing.

This was a small but very necessary "feature"

It's still there, still works. Others had an initial problem with it because they base the check swings off player ability this year. Easier for some, harder for others, but I think if you stay with it a bit, you'll be fine. It's still there.

Re: Check swing soarely missed

I'm still failing miserably at it online, but I have been able to check my swing most of the time offline. I really like that it's more tied into the player's rating now, and it's actually helping improve my batting eye because I can't use it as a crutch (anyone I played last year would tell you that I checked my swing all the time - looked like Mark Grace up there )

I checked swing a helluva lot last year too.

Anyways, you had to check swing last year because of the faster pitch speed and the slower bats. This year not so important, you can wait back much longer. I'm been able to decently pull off check swings online. Of course, offline is smoother.

i thought this was a genius move on SCEA's part. not every player hits the same, not every player has the same plate discipline, and subsequently not every player can check swing as effectively.

Re: Check swing soarely missed

Isnt every MLB batter capable of checking a swing? I mean, I know I can do it if I wanted to.. its just a matter if the check swing goes to far and results in a swing or if they are disciplined enough to hold up enough.

The problem with check swings in this game is that its not possible to do it every single time..

I think they should make you hold down the button longer for a regular swing and just a tap of the button for an automatic check swing.. and then let the ratings determine if the check swing results in a swinging strike call or if he holds up in time

Really?!?!.... 90-95 mile per hour heat, breaking balls that would have you swinging at air and changeups that look like fastballs but a good 10 MPH slower which will also have you swinging at air. But then even the slowest pitch is hard for the average person to try to hit, and usually that pitch never ends up where you think it will be.

Sorry to bust your balls The short answer is, no not every MLB player can check swing well.

Unfortunately, this is wrong info. Check swinging IS NOT in the game during ONLINE.

A lot of people don't have any trouble checking their swings during offline play, but it just isn't possible online...AT ALL. Even the slightest and fastest tap of the X button results in a full swing.

There are probably only a handful of people who claim that they check their swings regularly online, but I don't believe them.

I challenge somebody to show me a video of check swings while playing ONLINE.
