Why has communication from SCEA ceased?

I was consistenly impressed with the great communication out of SCEA pre-release...the community day, interviews, blogs, etc.

Now post release there doesn't seem to be any. What gives? You would think by now they could at least advise on the Cubs schedule, CPU lineup glitches, content of the 1.01 patch, etc., but all we're getting is speculation. Why is this?

I have to believe at the very least they could communicate what is/isn't patchable by now. And I don't want to hear about that they're probably all on vacation. Now, I don't work in the video game industry, but I know in other discipline's after a major launch everyone doesn't just pack up and go to Costa Rica for a few weeks.

Please don't consider this bashing. We do have a great game, I'm just a little baffled by the lack of post-launch communication is all.

Thanks.

I'm sure they're taking break (vacation)

my guess would be that after 8-9 straight months of working late hours on the game, being a constant presence on the message boards and hosting the community event, they wanted to take a break for a few days and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

just a guess.

In due time we should here from them. I think they are looking for everyone to spend a good chunk of time with the game and have a thorough understanding of it. As opposed to having to deal with all these cries of panic that keep occurring around here every two minutes.

They are aware of everything that is going on and what is not operating properly.

Seriously? I work for a major corporation and work my butt off leading up to launches, the last thing they let us do is take off right after the launch. That is perhaps the most crucial period where there is the potential to react quickly on consumer reaction.
Do you really think the SCEA office just emptied out the day of launch? Maybe. But I would consider that poor business practice.

This would be my guess as well. While they might not have packed up and gone to Costa Rica for the week, they probably are taking it easy and relaxing a bit. Also, don't forget that Russell has been on here just about every day(if not every day).

I'm here I haven't went anywhere I have been constantly on the boards since launch. FYI most of the dev team is on a much needed break they will be back soon enough. As far as patch's go I can't talk or speculate on things it's better for me to say nothing than to get everyone's hopes up. However I can assure you that we are well aware of the problems some are having.
