Amateur Draft (Still) Broken - Game Killer?

Seems that way for me. For starters, just as it was in 2K8 - majority of the players that are drafted are still under 6'0 feet tall. Doesn't matter what position or age.

Secondly, almost every pitcher that is available has a below 90's fastball. Some even as low in the mid 70's. It's ridiculous.

For a franchise mode that apparently had a complete "overhaul", looks oddly similar to last year's release.

this problem seemed predictable. i mean since they are giving all drafted and created players the same stances and deliveries, why would they add any variety in more specific things like height and pitch speed. they should definitely remove the editing limit, and allow us to edit any and everything. (if possible)

This is unbelievable. Every day someone discovers a new screw-up. Anything in this mess of a game not broken? It's taken only a matter of days for people to discover a whole littany of problems. Makes you wonder if the developers and testers were working with a completely different game not to catch any of this.

I agree. In my opinion it completely ruins franchise. Essentially after 5-6 years your entire minor league system not to mention some of your major league roster is filled with midgets. Likewise your pitchers never seem to progress enough to get above 90's fastballs.

I have started playing this game with all the power turned way up and just using it as an arcade game for recreation once in a while.

lol...why is it that every problem found is a "game killer" issue? I guess I just don't understand. I mean, if people can actaully look past enough of the gameplay flaws to this point and still play through the franchise mode, etc...then why does this stuff "kill the game" while the other stuff doesn't?

No offense meant to the OP, and I'm not trying to minimalize the issue (I agree it would be annoying) but I think "game killer" might be the most overused term here...lol. Oh well.

That's fair. Probably should have labeled it as "Franchise Killer". However since there are a lot of us who specifically play sports game for Franchise - it potentially just kills the overall game experience.

Either way it's just another one of a long list of issues 2K9 has.

edit: I doubt it gets fixed either. I mean, if I can recall even 2K7 had this issue. I know for a fact 2K8 did. So this claim of how they rebuilt franchise from the ground up is bogus.
