Guess Pitches On or Off?

This is my first time playing the MLB The Show series so I'm playing on veteran. With Guess Pitches On I could not get a hit let alone a home run. I turned it off and noticed I'm hitting way better and just hit back to back homers.

I'm curious what veterans of The Show use? Is Guess Pitches just a gimmick or is it an important part of the game?

I suppose if you want realism, turn guess pitch off.

Or you can leave guess pitch on and turn off the feedback. More than one way to skin a cat.

I don't want to use it, but at this point I feel I have to in order to make contact! I just can't hit yet. I will turn this off before a franchise is started. My only gripe with the game is the pitches not being different enough, and I know in real life they look very similar in the Bigs Im sure. I just need a little visable difference for me to really enjoy this game to it's fullest. Otherwise I feel like I am just guessing on every pitch.

Bump that...I use it - and use it plenty.

I say use it, it could be a substitute for being able to see the spin on the ball and knowing whats coming like the real guys do. I had to turn off the left stick direction thing it never once worked for me.

Agreed, guess pitch - no feedback is the best. It's the only realistic guess pitch option in my opinion.

Re: Guess Pitches On or Off?

I never, ever use Guess Pitch. Just me though.

I'm hitting pretty well so far in '09, which I am pretty happy about. I think I am batting about .280 after 4 games. Yet my record is only 1-3. Oh, and I have been one-hit vs. Oswalt.

I can't say it enough. This game is goooood. Real good.
