Problems with RTTS baserunning

The baserunning in RTTS is giving me fits! Usually, it's left stick up for advance base and down to go back. However, it seems that if the camera is turned around, meaning the camera is facing the outfield, you have to hit the stick towards the bag you want to go to.

For example, I am at 2nd base and a line drive to the outfield causes the camera to turn around. I push the left stick up to advance to 3rd. My player will take a step towards 3rd as the camera turns around. But, since the camera is now facing the outfield, my player will retreat to 2nd. This has happened 8 or 9 times to me already and it's driving me insane!

Hopefully this is something that can be patched.

It's camera relative, just like when you're on defense i.e. if you're playing 3rd base, circle is third triangle is home ect... but if you're playing the regular way circle is 1st. So be cognizant of your surroundings.

The manual states nothing about running being relative to the base when the camera is facing the outfield, though I can guarantee it is. Nothing in the manual states anything other than left stick forward to advance and backwards to retreat.

The problem is the hesitation of waiting for the camera to move (or not move) will cost runs. Right now, on a sure line drive to the outfield, it take 2-3 seconds to wait to see if the camera moves before I move the left stick. This can be the difference between being at 3rd or scoring.

Also, same thing with fielding, although I can live with it. On a fly ball near the wall, I would hit up on the left stick to start moving towards the ball. In anticipation of the camera moves. But, it takes a good second or two for the camera to change and it causes my player to take a step or two forward before the camera moves and I'm running the right direction. I've lost some balls where if I had a good jump, it would have been an out.

Now that I've played quite a few games in RTTS (over 50), I've come up with a few other examples, I'm on 2nd, ball is hit to shallow outfield. I push up to run to 3rd and the camera swings around before I reach 3rd. The camera moving causes my guy to hitch and almost run back to 2nd about 10 ft from the base since continuing to push up after the camera changes means that I just told my player to retreat to 2nd.

Result, what is an easy walk home from 2nd becomes man on 1st and 3rd.

In RTTS its right to advance and left to return to the previous base this is when you are at first, second, and third base. I don't think you should be using up for anything but let me double check.

Baserunning (Road to the Show-specific)
Advance......Left stick (forward)
Retreat.......Left stick (back)
Stop...........Left stick (released)

I will be happy if what you say is true. I am trying it right now as soon as I get on base.

Russell, it would still seem like it is camera relative though. I'll be on first and the ball will be hit into right field. As the camera tracks the ball what I was pushing now causes me to run back towards first base instead of 2nd.
