Icon5 Reactive or Proactive?

Simple question, will you buy the game first day and make up your own mind, or will you wait for the OS community to help make your mind up for you?

I'd love to say i'm going to wait, but i know that the first day will not end without the game in my mind, i rather tell people how i feel than to rely on others. Though the benefit to reading OS is that people here are very thorough when looking at aspects that i may have glanced over.

Re: Reactive or Proactive?

I'm going to wait at least a couple days. read some impressions and see if any major glitches or problems pop up before I drop $60 on this game

Re: Reactive or Proactive?

I will be purchasing both MLB The Show & MLB 2k9 on March 3rd. I'm even considering a midnight run to a 24 hour Wal-Mart to get my hands on both games ASAP.

I probably will play 5 to 6 games on each and come to my own conclusions before I start reading/posting on OS. There will be problems with both games at launch, but I won't be focusing on what's wrong with the games. I'll be focusing on fun factor, immersion level, and the franchise modes of each game.

I've made the mistake of coming here before playing retail versions of previous games and problems that I probably wouldn't have immediately noticed were burned into the depths of my brain. Don't get me wrong, I love reading these forums, but there are people who spend more time trying to find out what's wrong with a game rather than just playing and enjoying it.

Eventually, I will notice most of the problems that are mentioned here on release day, but not in the first few hours playing the game. After my honeymoon with both games, I plan to read and post, provide some constructive criticism, and listen to what other gamers have to say. Until then, I can only provide conjecture on what game play video we've seen and the upcoming demo.

I always wait and read others' impressions. This year though I've arranged to rent 2K9 when it comes out, so I can make up my mind based on my own impresions.

So proactively reactive then?...lol

I'm in the same boat. Got a 360 copy lined up to rent. If all seems well in terms of play and after some reviews nobody discovers an "OH NO! 2K9 KILLED MY FAMILY!!!" type glitch, I'll likely pick it up (for the PC though).

That would almost be as bad as the MVP 2004 "Lefty Glitch"

I'll buy if the demo plays well.

Thanks to all that helped with the Baltimore Orioles roster, and to N51_rob for making me an OS premium member.
