Finally got 1000 of 1000

Two nights ago I finally unlocked all of the achievements for this game. The toughest was by far the 20+ defining moments. Many times the game forces you to make the wrong call in order to get the challenge right. Defining moments are great in theory, but ultimately broken in Head Coach. Gamertag is also TheLoneCHARLES

So what team did you unlock all the "Receive 80 approval w/ the media after your first year" types with?

Those to me seem stupid...I don't want to be forced/expected to have to get all of these approvals ratings that high in my 1st year.

Its nearly impossible w/ the Niners as I finished w/ an OVR approval of 43.

Re: Finally got 1000 of 1000

Actually, the 49ers are the team I did it with. In the offseason, I gave play calling duties to my coordinators, since the Head coach only has a 14 overall rating if you choose a new coach. Then I started dumping bad contracts, and changed the philosophy to a mobile QB with speed receivers and a 3-4 blitzing defense.

In the draft, I worked on trading down while scouting effectively. I don't remember exactly who I drafted (I'm currently in the year 2021) I remember the main pickups. Josh Johnson was to be my QB, especially with Alex Smith eating the cap. Then I drafted 3 WRs from a strong WR crop, and Calais Campbell the DE. After filling out the roster with free agents I had a formidable team.

In training camp, I focused on creating boot plays to take advantage of Josh Johnson's speed. The create 10 plays made my playbook very strong, along with my approval. At the end of preseason, I told the owner I only expected to win 3 games and took the approval hit. Now with lowered expectations, I went 10-6 while missing the playoffs in a strong NFC. I still had over 90 approval when the season ended.

If you have trouble with approval, start actually coaching the games and win some defining moments. You'll have a high approval all the time that way.

I coached over half my games, and called all the plays for both sides of the ball.

My personality is an analyst, and because of that type I didn't get very many defining moments. I went 1-2 in defining moments over the 10 games I played/coached.

Good job on getting your approval that high. Mine was on the verge, but a 3 gm losing streak after a big come from behind win @ ARI on MNF (where my approval was up to 62) cost me the approval ratings.

By the time I had won again my approval had dropped about 20 some points.
