I am just curious about if there is a consensus.

I use the following -

PASS = assisted
THROUGH = manual
SHOT = semi
CROSS = manual
LOB = manual

I was used to the manual [cross/through/lob] from FIFA08 (ps2).

I tried to use manual (or even semi) with passing - and it was killing me.

I am still undecided about shooting - any passionate opinions on this?

Is there a "best way" to arrange these?

There is no "best way" to have it setup, what ever gives you the most enjoyment and is the least frustrating.

manual shooting is impossible to me. I feel like if I barely move the left stick and I shoot, the ball will go completely away from the target, or just not in the general vicinity at all.

i play on all manual at first it was very frustrating but i did not give up on it and i think this is the best soccer game today because of the freedom you have passing the ball with manual controls.The shooting is a little frustrating but pressing Lt after you feel up the bar helps a little, pressing Lt after anything you do helps the accuracy out. i dont score much with manual shooting but when i do i feel like i accomplished something lol

Same with me. I was determined to become somewhat decent with all manual controls and I think I'm getting there. Shooting is pain though. I'll play manual shooting if I have to but I think semi shooting is the most realistic setting for shots.

BTW emc do you play online(xbox 360)? We can play all manual
