Good Pair Of Headphones

Hello Guys and Gals...

While out searching for a way to spend some left over Christmas Cash/Gift Cards in a useful way, I came across headphones.

I know back when I was younger by dad had a really nice set of headphones that were super good. Unfortunately I don't own them anymore.

Ok, I'll get to the point. I know how much a good set of headphones can change the sound of music. I mainly use earphones now while at the gym or in the house, but I really desire a nice pair.

So I came across these Bose Headphones at Best Buy. I haven't had a chance to test them out, and was wondering if anyone here has used them or has any high quality suggestions.

I would mainly be using them for Ipod, but also for Gaming/Receiver/PC use. Wireless is not necessary. I want something that will make my ears feel like they are in heaven, both with sound and comfort.

Anyone have any suggestions? Would like to stay at the price range of those two items.

Re: Good Pair Of Headphones

Bose sucks...they are the Monster cables of the speaker/headphone industry.

I bought my wife a $100 pair of Sony noise cancelling ones for her birthday for use with her Zune and she loves them. They really block out the noise, provide good sound, and look similar to the ones you picked.

Granted, I'm not a personal audio afficianado so I'm sure they aren't the best.

I have the bottom pair and I love them. Totally comfortable and they sound great.

My dad has the same feelings towards Bose that Johnny does and he thinks you pay a premium for the name. Which may be true, honestly. But I had the money to spend for the very best, tried out a bunch, and those were the ones I liked the most.

Re: Good Pair Of Headphones

I hate Bose home theater stuff, way too overpriced, but I think they make some of the best headphones on the market.

Here is a resource I've found useful. They review a mix between over the ear headphones and in ear headphones, but it should provide you with a lot of information.

Hope that helps.

Re: Good Pair Of Headphones

I was thinking of getting some headphones too. I like the earbuds, but I want a better sound in my ears. I figured headphones (not earbuds) would do the job better. I'll have to look into some different products too.

This is usually how I tend to think also. From what I've heard in the past the headphones were really nice.

Well thanks everyone for the quick replies. Guess I'll have to go do some comparisons.

http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/ is really the best place to ask this question. Most people there aren't fans of Bose.
