Question Does anyone else think gamespeed should be part of the difficulty setting?

... and not a slider?

From what I've heard, "the speed of the game" is what sets apart the NFL from the pros. Even in Madden, the plays don't unfold as quickly as they do in the NFL.

Do you guys agree the Rookie mode should be slow, maybe even have some well designed slow down type things (scanning for open receiver, timing a jump for a pass, waiting for holes to open) and play "actual NFL speed" for Madden mode?

Difficulty should not be solely based on speed.

Re: Does anyone else think gamespeed should be part of the difficulty setting?

I agree, and I am also in Vegas!

Yes, not solely, but speed should be noticable. If I were programming the game, I would use a combination of speed, pre-play formation disguises, variation of play calling and AI adaptability to user playcalling.

For example, on easy mode, the CPU would come out in their formation, no audibling, no "show blitz" and run at a slow game speed. The CPU would not adjust to a play working over and over again. Also, they wouldn't blitz as much. Kinda like Pro Bowl rules.

Madden mode would have all of the goodies. Formation disguises, audibles, AI adjusments to what is going on in the game.

Rather than simply leaving it up to the AI and having the CPU "cheat" (DT's catching RB's from behind) with the ratings, I would use this mix of criteria.

For myself I simply use speed sliders to make animations look correct. I really don't care about the difficulty factor or anything like that. I think all sliders should be available independent of difficulty.

Agreed. A speed slider would be preferable independent of difficulty.

Not everyone has the same coordination , so Game speed should be a seperate Option, than Difficulty.

If you want all madden then combined with Fast game speed, thats great. I also think its great for someone who wants the All Madden difficulty also combined with Normal speed to be great also.

Options is the key not fixed settings.

This already happens in NCAA. Freshman plays slower than Varsity and so on and so forth. It's a tacky way to separate difficulty level if you ask me.

Difficulty should revolve around the AI's capabilities.
