Question on curving the ball

On shots in arena mode it seems to be inverted (stick right and up makes it curve left and down) but on things like corner kicks its not? Am I seeing things or does anyone know whats up? Im playing on 360 btw if it matters.

Re: Question on curving the ball

On free kicks and corners, the right stick direction is where you strike the ball.

Are you sure you don't mean left stick? Seems impossible to use left stick and circle/B who both are on the right side of the controller?

Re: Question on curving the ball

No I mean right stick. Even on you long kicks from the goalie, hold up on the right stick after you power up the shot. You'll see the ball do some serious dipping in flight. Only thing is that you have to be prepared to receive the ball on the other end. As soon as I get my computer parts and get it rebuilt, I'll post some video examples of what I mean. I kinda blew up my PC with my new editing software. It was rendering for 2 hours straight and it burnt up my videocard and AGP slot on my motherboard.

Re: Question on curving the ball

That's odd, I notice a big difference when using the left stick on free kicks.

From the 360 manua:

Quote:
Coaching tip: Adding elevation and spin.

To add elevation to your shot power it up for longer, but be aware of overpowering. and move (LS) to add sidespin, topspin and backspin. Topspin can be used to bring the ball down quickly.

Perhaps it has something to do with that you play on a PC?

Then I have no clue why it's different.

brian - i am also a bit confused here. on free kicks and corners, i have my spin add by moving the L stick DURING the power up. but use the R stick AFTER power up? this is interesting and i will try this.

question, can you also put spin on a free kick ball by using the L stick DURING power up?

i will try using the right stick and look forward to seeing your video.
