Malware Download from OS?

I just got a troublesome message.

Trying to read some topics in the NCAA Football forum. I click on one and my browser (Google Chrome) alerts me to a malware download on the page I'm trying to access. I think "Not on OS" so I continue through anyways. Immediately a popup comes up and says that my computer is not safe and asks me to download something I believe is called "Adware 360". It may have been "Malware 360" or something to that effect.

I recognize that it's the malware Chrome was talking about so I try to x out of the box, and it begins a download. So I close the tab to end it.

I really would like to see this fixed because it's not the first time this has happened. I do believe, if I remember correctly that it has only happened to me while opening topics in the NCAA Football forum.

The Gamingchef - that is a virus program called AntiVirus 2008, it's a BEAST to get rid of.

Check for removal instructions on the net.

I had the crap on my laptop. I ended up just wiping the thing and starting over.

go here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

I use malwarebytes at work all the time. Especially this week since half the people got the Hallmark card virus. This tool actually got rid of the Antivirus 2008 and 09 spyware also.

I don't recall the exact URL. If I see it again I will be sure to save it and post it here.

Nice. So that is what probably caused all of those problems on my laptop 4 days ago. Not happy at all. I had to have the IT department wipe my laptop clean and start over.
