Icon5 Alley-Oops!

ok, i've been playin' this game for over 3 weeks now & i have not been able to execute an "alley-oop" on a fast break or in a 1/2 court set for that matter. can someone PLEASE explain to me how to do this. nothing like going 2-on-1 & you have to settle for a layup or mid-range shot. i currently have my controller set to the Alternate A set up.

Re: Alley-Oops!

You do it by pressing LT or L2 and the pass button... but what i want to know is how to execute this...everytime i do it it gets tipped. sometimes even on like 2 on 1 plays where it should be easy. any help?

Re: Alley-Oops!

Left Trigger + Pass.

Don't use LT + RT + Pass.

i could've sworn that's what i've been doing (LT & pass). it seems like everytime i did that, it would just throw a lead pass. but i will try it again when i get home...thanks!

Re: Alley-Oops!

The cpu throws them on me quite a bit, but I'm not sure I've pulled off more than one or two this year!! I try them all the time, but it never works..ball either gets deflected or the finisher does't catch it. I play with the hands slider fairly low, so that may be affecting it, but it's definitely something I need to figure out.

i'm always doing this every game... twice at least... some attempts will get tipped because the passer wasn't good enough (passing rating) or the recipient is not a constant dunker...

also, make sure that you have a clear driving lane or your recipient has a an above average rating on dunks in traffic...

calderon calls for screen... bosh will come then roll towards the basket... press LT + A and voila! a possible #1 play of the game...

you can do it while the dunker is just standing... i've done this few times with jermaine and fastbreaks as well, with moon on the wing...

hope this helps...

btw, i'm using tomba 2k9 set... i think hands slider is low here...

Re: Alley-Oops!

DO NOT!... I REPEAT DO NOT!!! think of lob passes the way you did for all previous 2k games..
I had the same problem you guys did heres the answer...

halfcourt...

throw lobs like the cpu does off back door cuts and screens. ex. kidd top of the key... dirk sets a backdoor screen for gerald green.. as soon as he breaks to the goal throw the lob.. wallha!!

fast break wait for cpu to commit to ballhandler. they play back alot this year so take the layup and get fouled..

2k just did away with the cheese this year... so if you want a lob to worl this year you have to be patient and get them out of your offense eith the correct personel.

good luck fellas
