Looks more like the aliens from Independence Day.

There's a lot of weird stuff that lives in the depths of the ocean. And we know very little about it according to scientists and are just at the tip of the iceberg as far as what species live down in those dark depths. I wonder what else might live in the depths of the trenches miles beneath the surface?

That thing was weird, though. Thank you Shell for that!

As much as I think outer space is pretty cool, I would love to see us invest more towards deep sea exploration. Dinosaur creatures abound down there.

As others have said the oceans have a lot of unknowns. We have been to the deepest part once I believe and that is the Marianas trench...almost 7 miles down. I read off another site if you could take Mt. Everest at sea level and put it in the trench and it would disappear.

Makes you wonder what else is down there.

Re: A form of Cloverfield lives!

The more interesting thing about underwater creatures vs. space creatures is that we know there are creatures down there and they are here at home.

Space creatures are almost definitely in other galaxies and we do not possess anything close to the technology that would enable us to discover them. We're much closer to figuring out what's underwater but we just don't make that effort.

It always seems that these videos are a result of a camera taking photographs for something completely unrelated to finding life. Would be nice if the government and the science field actually tried.
