Half Lengths

I was just curious as to what half lengths you guys are playing with, and roughly how long games take to complete. I like to try to get a realistic amount of FG attempts (around 50-60) without the game taking too long, and I'm just trying to make a final choice before I start my dynasty.

Re: Half Lengths

I play 20 minutes halves and get realistic stats. It takes roughly an hour. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.

Re: Half Lengths

I'm with countryboy. 20 minutes seems to do it for me.

Re: Half Lengths

I tried 20 minutes, and scored 80+ every game. Maybe it's my Up-Tempo style of play, but it didn't seem realistic to me.

I play 15 and I get seem to get realistic stats.

BigJim, you should STRUGGLE to be 6-0 and STRUGGLE to hit 80 points a game so I really challenge you to take a look at your settings and adjust accordingly. Sliders should not be universal, but should be adjusted to YOUR ability. That is if you want true realism.

Re: Half Lengths

Yeah, I definitely like a realistic season. I think that you should really have to work hard to beat decent teams. Now it should be pretty easy to beat a team like NC A&T though.

Re: Half Lengths

I use roadlesstvld's slider set @ 20 minute halves and I get some realistic results.

I play as Georgetown which implement a half-court tempo and I score between 50-65 points a game while giving up the same amount on D.

If you want to check it out here's the link it has all the info for the sliders, good discussion on them, and stats from games I've played.

Re: Half Lengths

20 minutes is perfect for me. In my Miami season, I'm averaging around 73 ppg after 8 games and they are an up-tempo team. I think if you play to the teams actual tempo, you can get pretty realistic stats playing a full 40 minute game. I also have a Howard closed legacy going and I'm only averaging about 55 ppg with them, but they are a half-court team.
