Books and reading

So i don't really know if there is any actual forum for reading and just wanted to know if any of you have read any good books lately. I just finished The Battle of The Labyrinth book 4 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and thought it was great. I've read the others and this one was really good. So if i posted in the wrong forum please move it. Thank you.

War and Peace FTW!

Actually i've never read it but it's supposed to be one of the longest books ever written.

Anyone who hasn't read it is doing themselves a disservice. Bar none the best book I've ever read, and most people who've read it agree.

As a self proclaimed history junkie, there's no reason for you not having read it. Once you get past the "WHOMG THERE'S A LOT OF PAGES" it's a fantastic book.

Re: Books and reading

maybe one of these winter days I could curl up next to the fire and read War and Peace.....

or I could go watch football and play video games, tough choice.

I actually just finished reading Stephen King's The Green Mile. Anyone else read it, its really good so far, best King book ive read. Anyone seen the movie, is it good?

Re: Books and reading

The Green Mile Movie was ok IMO.

I just bought used copies from Amazon of "Generation Kill" by Evan Wright and "Band Of Brothers : E Company, 506th Regiment, 101st Airborne from Normandy to Hitler's Eagle's Nest" by Stephen E. Ambrose.

Heard from other posters here and the Generation Kill HBO Thread that the book was good, so figured I would give it a read. Loved the Series.

Also heard the BOB Book was good, and I'm a huge history guy.

Only paid 98 cents plus shipping for Generation Kill and $1.78 for Band of Brothers plus shipping.

Used Amazon Marketplace FTW!

Re: Books and reading

I'm a Sherlock Holmes collector, and love that era of fiction...probably have around 100 books in my collection (got most of them dirt-cheap on ebay).

I also like fiction books by James Rollins, John Grisham, Will Thomas, Phil Rickman.

My wife bought me the DVD Band of Brothers series...by far one of the best investments. Took me around 2 months to watch all of them but I enjoyed them very much.

I also have the DVD series John Adams that I haven't started yet.

Re: Books and reading

I just got done reading David Baldacci's "Divine Justice"...the latest in a series, it's a action/drama/politics type book set in DC, but more about the characters and less political boring. Quick read and had me hooked from the start.

Not sure what's next, gotta hit up the library.
