Worth getting for Dynasty/Franchise fans?

Nice review from OS. I just wanted to hear some more opinions from people who have them game though.
The main draw for me in sports games is generally the dynasty or franchise re-playability. Madden 09 is a prime example of a game that I just can't get into because the franchise is just too bare bones and bores me to death before I can even finish a season. NCAA Football 08 on the other hand I played for a long time, although the graphics weren't that great and playing the option was basically cheating, just because there was a lot of depth in the franchise with recruiting and what not.
I keep hearing "bare bones" in reviews of this game. Is that just in terms of presentation or also the franchise depth? Does the lack of off-court presentation leave the overall experience feeling boring like Madden?
Also, are there bugs that are just too frustrating to play multiple dynasty seasons (a la pre-patch Madden 09 or HC 09)?
I liked the gameplay in the demo and haven't tried a basketball game since NBA2k4 (I think with Iverson on the cover).
If I'm just looking for decent gameplay and a dynasty with depth is 2k8 a better choice?
A lot of questions but the most important one is in the title. I appreciate the help.

Re: Worth getting for Dynasty/Franchise fans?

I got it and am severely disappointed in Dynasty mode. Maybe I'm not getting it or I am spoiled by College Hoops 2K series, but I got no value out of recruiting. I started with Yale, found some 4 star recruits who fit my needs with 'High' interest. Sent everything I could at them, and they signed the next week...

ETA: The recruits signed with me at Yale...

2k8 will probably have the best Dynsasty for the next few years. I personally think this Dynasty is better than NCAA Football . i got this game for the gameplay, this game plays fun

2K8 has the best legacy in any sports title, by a LONG shot IMO. Nothing has been really close to it, including this game. Features, features and more features, plus unlimited editing and customization. Legacy was the highlight of 2K8.

Re: Worth getting for Dynasty/Franchise fans?

Yale is not going to win championships for as long as the school participates in NCAA basketball.

That's why they signed elsewhere.

Not to offend you.

If you were Duke or some school to that extent, you will get the players you want.

EDIT: Disregard this message

Re: Worth getting for Dynasty/Franchise fans?

idk what it is but the recruiting is horrible, i grabbed 4 four-star recruits & their ratings were in the 50's lol
