Coaches Quitting

My Offensive Coordinator just stood up and said he couldnt take it any more and quit on me after the very first regular season game.

I think my WR coach is about to quit too. He is all snotty toward me and just sits slumped in his chair during meetings.

What the hell did I do wrong?

He really messed me up too because I had to schedule in a Manage Staff day to get another coach, meaning that I had to take away from a practice and my coaches sent me email saying to schedule another practice if I want sucess against my opponenet.

This is a nightmare! WTF is going on?

I really think its so lame that you have to schedule things instead of practices. And most of the mundane things are locked. Like a coach would call off a practice during the week to promote one of the coaches and schedule another for an interview.

ARGH worst part is I dont know what I did. I am afraid they will all be pissed and quit soon. Hope its not a bug.

Far from a bug. If you don't let your OC call the game, he will quit on you because you are not letting him do his job. If you fail to get your offensive players/plays ready during practice... he might quit on you also. Especially if he is a high rated one. Alot of things come into play when dealing with you staff.

Bottom line, get an OC/DC that fits your philosophy and let them do their jobs.

Re: Coaches Quitting

Good info.

He was a moron though. Driving late in the half to the twenty and hes calling QB sneaks and QB kneels.

Didnt realise that I had to take his advice in the playcalling.
I think we might have clashed too because he was a balanced type guy and I am WCO. The new guy I got is also WCO and we seem to be doing lots better.

So basicly my job is to run the practices and then let them call the games and live with it?

I hate that you dont get any good answers for them when their squad sucks. You get a trust drop no matter what kind of answer you give them at the meeting. Like my WR coach is now all pissed, he just says Get rid of your Starting WR he doesnt practice hard enough!!
Its Randy freaking Moss!! He is telling me that he sucks and dump him. Hes rated 97 every week!
ARGH
This game is maddening sometimes. I should have picked a better team with a QB at least eh.

Yeah man, this is not the simple "everything" is handed to you on a silver platter coach mode in Madden. Take my 49er's dynasty.

Lost V. Young in a OL vs. DL con drill in practice: Broken leg... out 12-weeks. Had to scramble to get A. Smith ready and it was not pretty. Lost a shootout to Seattle 42-41. Smith looked bad. We get back to the office and my OC N. Turner quits on me. I wasn't surprised because I had been blowing him off when it came to him calling the offense during games. Plus, I was not meeting my key goals all the time and getting my players ready. He would constantly bring it up during meetings and call me to schedule and extra practice. Anyway hired a new OC before our game with STL.

Alex Smith looked like he was the bona-fide starter instead of Young. This OC has a vertical deep strike passing game philosphy and I let him run 95% of the offense during the game. I might have over-rode 7-8 of his calls. Alex Smith
s stat line that game:

A. Smith: 20-31, 320yds TD, 0 INTs, QB Rating: 109.6 !!!

I never even approached numbers like this with Young and Turner.

I have learned my lesson about my coordinators. My DC is just horrible though and I run the defense myself. I'm trying to get him to leave but not until the end of the season.

Good luck man.

Re: Coaches Quitting

They give you one meeting per week with OC/DC where the co-ordinators encourage you to tweak the playbook.

Great... until you do it.

Every change you make to the playbook during this meeting drops your OC/DC's trust level towards you. Trust gets low enough, and he quits.
