rspencer86's Realism Sliders + Gameplan Settings

Hey everyone,

I've been playing ESPN NFL 2k5 for a long time now, and probably will continue to play it for some time. It's a lot of fun, and with the right slider settings, can play a very realistic game.

Drawing from ideas from Radja and others, I'd like to share my set of sliders and Coach Gameplan settings. These sliders have given me very realistic results and have added to my enjoyment of this game.

NOTE: I use default rosters - PS2

Franchise House Rules

I use Bill Abner's Franchise House Rules to make building good teams much tougher. They are as follows:

Salaries:
• Max out the player's interest slider before making an offer.
• Increase the players requested bonus percentage by an additional ten percent.
• Six year contracts are the maximum allowed length.
Trades:
• Max out the trade interest slider before making a deal, even if it's offered to you from the trading block.
• No trading for an opposing team's starting quarterback.
• No trading for rookies.
• No trading of players from your team in the last year of their contract.
• No trading for/away kickers.
• No trading away of players rated below 70.
Draft:
• No more than two draft picks in a round, and no more than ten picks in any one draft.

All thanks go to Radja for his great slider set that I used as a base and Bill Abner for the house rules.

Re: rspencer86's Realism Sliders + Gameplan Settings

Just finished up an exhibition game with these sliders and Ricksters latest roster. Panthers vs Bears (me), I lost 27-13 (hope I didn't jinx them!), but it was a very fun game. The pace and everything felt really good. The game should've been alot closer, but I was playing pretty rusty and threw 4 INT's. 3 of those were completly on me......1st game in a month or so.

I'll definatly be using this set for a bit, as I shake the rust off of my football gaming abilities.

Nice work!

With our quarter length at 10 minutes, what should I set the sim quarter length at to get roughly the same stats for computer simmed games?

Re: rspencer86's Realism Sliders + Gameplan Settings

I use 10 minute quarters because I don't skip through replays, cutscenes, etc. I usually end up with 55-65 plays per team, which is about right. If you want to skip through replays and such, you will probably have to lower your minutes played, probably to 8-9 minutes.

I use 5 minutes for simulated quarters. Seems to give pretty realistic statistics.

I currently play 9 minutes quarters and sometimes skip and sometimes watch replays. I can't remember off hand how many plays I have a game, but will have to check it out. I think my simmed quarters are either 5 or 6. I seem to change all the time between the 2.

When I play I use 9 minute quarters and have the sim set at 6 for the first 8 games of the season, and 5 for the last 8 games. I end up with 110-130 plays a game depending on if there is a lot of running or passing.

I'm going to try your offensive sliders for the CPU. I've been having a tricky time getting a realistic CPU offense going.

For offense for the human, I've found the best sliders tend to be all 0 for Human Offense, except for blocking at 10, and all 40 for CPU defense.

Dear Wizzykin,
can you post here the complete set of sliders you use and that gives you CPU offense and defense good results?
