NFL Draft
Now that the NFL draft is upon us, it is time to once again give EA my opinion of how the draft should work in Madden.
In my world, the ratings for all players will be available to all users-- this represents the fact that in the real world, all teams evaluate the same players (for the most part, yeah there are exceptions.)
The difference is that some teams seem to be stronger in different areas. The Eagles tend to hit on offensive linemen but strike out on WRs (except for Devonta Smith.) During the dynasty, the Patriots excelled in those late round guys. This needs to be reflected in the game.
So in my world, a QBs rating would be, say 75. If your team is 'good' at evaluating QBs, he would have a +/- of 3 meaning that QB could be anywhere between a 78 and a 72-- in other words the rating is more accurate. On the other hand, if you're the old Browns who just cannot get it right with QBs, that same QB would have a +/- of 15 meaning that QB could be anywhere between a 90 and 60. More room for error.
This system is almost limitless... some teams will have great +/- with first round vs late round; offense vs defense; positions, and so forth.
Setting up your board each week for each player is kind of tedious and doesn't reflect the real world aspect of drafting players.
