Metallica announces Marching Band contest winner to be featured in EA CFB
Got an email from the Metallica fan club about this, apparently they are running a competition for marching bands using their songs. The winner gets their recording included in a future version of EA College Football (presumably CFB27 as the deadline is in fall 2025).

Bands who enter the competition will have access to a library of marching band charts for Metallica songs, provided by Hal Leonard via sheetmusicdirect.com. The members of Metallica will select the winning performances, who will win musical equipment for their school program, furnished by our sponsors. NEW: The 1st place Division 1 College winner will have the opportunity to record a Metallica song and the EA SPORTS™ College Football Theme Song and have their recordings included in EA SPORTS™ College Football.

This is outstanding. I can see Va Tech being used a ton in '26 because of this.

I hope ea can get 2 metallica songs on the soundtrack

metallica has too many great songs to have just sandman in

True. But maybe this means Metallica has a working relationship with EA and we get "Enter Sandman" THIS year for Va Tech. Fingers crossed, anyway.

I think that is a very good sign

I don't think we will get a marching band version of metallica in 26 but I do thinks the odds are very good sandman could be in
