Is GOAT Hitting Unfair?

I understand that GOAT hitting is supposed to mean smaller pci, but I am missing too many pitches with "good" feedback. I can understand occasionally missing a pitch with good feedback, but it seems too frequent.

Anyone else using GOAT hitting have same or similar experience?

That’s the point of it, the PCI is much smaller and it’s supposed to be much more difficult. When my PCI is in range, I hit the ball well. When I don’t, it’s either a whiff or bad contact. I play it for fun, but I usually use Legend because I get better results based on how I play. But GOAT is supposed to be insanely difficult and I find it to be fine as long as you are spot on with timing and PCI location.

If you are struggling with it a bit, then just drop down to Legend.

My question is a little different. Are you on any mode supposed to make contact with the ball most of the time with good timing feedback? I get if you have poor timing, but I get too many whiffs on good timing. Is that normal? BTW..I use directional hitting so no pci.

Ah that might be it. I think GOAT is intended to be more for zone hitting users who control the PCI. I could be wrong about that but based on my findings, it’s really tailored towards players who can line up the PCI closest to the middle of where the ball hits the strike zone. That’s why you can have good timing but still whiff because the PCI isn’t lined up almost exactly to where the ball is.

I’d assume directional is similar, meaning if you aren’t aiming in the right area of the strike zone, then maybe it misses because you are trying to pull a ball that’s a pitch away that should be pushed? Just saying that I’ve barely missed the ball with the PCI on zone, had good timing, and whiffed because the window is much tighter. That’s the main reason I went back to legend. I can hit on GOAT, but it’s just much tougher for me to be consistent because of that.

Yes. Its completely unfair. I have 90 year old man vision and reflexes so I cant be the goat. Totally unfair.

Directional is just like timing except, if you choose, you can influence a swing such as a fly ball. So the pci should not play as much a role as timing and ratings. And I am getting good timing with high rated players.

I like the GOAT because of the speed of the ball (I play 10/10 pitch speed too) and that's why I question whether it is fair.

I mean it’s not “fair” because it’s not supposed to be. It’s supposed to make the CPU be more of a challenge for you so they have an unfair advantage. That’s the point of it.

Not if no one can hit the darn ball when they have timed it perfectly. Don't get me wrong, I really like the level but it has to be fair. Fair doesn't mean you strike out 10x with good timing. Good timing means you are on the ball and shouldn't miss it unless poor rating. At least that's what I think good timing means.

Fair can't be perfect perfect swing for a base hit or ball in play.
