ATTN: 2k Developers

I am probably barking up the wrong tree, but this is addressed to the developers of 2k in hopes that they could see this.

I wonder what 2k's thought process was in having the Jordan era start in 1991-92 season? He won his 1st title during the 1990-91 season.

Kobe's era doesn't start till 2002-03 season. Should it not start during the 1999-2000 season when he and Shaq won their first title?

2k has made it clear you cannot edit existing courts designs to preserve accuracy. When you do go to edit a court, it displays a generic design. That is great (I guess) but why should they lock this down when a majority of the courts that they created in the eras mode (especially Magic/Bird and Jordan) are wrong? If you want to lock them down, great....make sure that the courts are accurate. A user shouldn't have to start from scratch when they see inaccuracies.

Again, perhaps I will get lucky in having a developer see this and respond. I certainly haven't had luck with my other methods of communication.

I get it, they do put in the work and it's appreciated. But if you are going to offer certain modes such as the eras, do better to get it right.

Eras has more to do than one player/team. Other teams, draft classes etc were a factor in where they decided to start each roster.

Perhaps most notably, Magic Johnson retired due to HIV after the 90-91 season. Including Magic in this Era (despite his brief return in 96) would have been too big of a departure.

IIRC 02-03 was specifically chosen because it's right before the 2003 Draft (LeBron/Melo/Bosh/Wade).

I appreciate your response and insight as I didn't consider those events and factors. It certainly makes me now think differently. Thank you!!

Two words: Draft classes

Who was the main attraction after the 1992 season? Shaq
Who was the main attraction after the 1984 Season? Jordan/Olajuwon
Who was the main attraction after 2003 season ? LBBJ, Melo, Wade
2017? Jayson Tatum

They want you to jump in time to align yourself to play for the right to be able to draft those players. In your own world.

Hoping they expand it more AND add the floors

What would make eras better, IMO, would be to basically allow an any year start after whatever year they could get the most players on the rosters.

The only disappointing thing is the number of missing guys and not just the stars. I love playing with some of the bench guys from back in the day as well.

But I’d love to be able to pick a starting year.

That would require 50 Rosters. Rather than the 5 they have now.

In due time.

Well yeah. Just what would push the ERA's thing to the next level.
