Thoughts on ambush hitting?

I used it first few days and I feel like I was behind on all pitches and seemed like I was penalized pretty hard if I swing at something not on the side of the plate I was looking for.

When I turned it off I seemed to hit much better.

So I don't know if this is a mental block in my own head as I play or if maybe the system is causing a slight feedback lag or something.

I've played primarily offline and only 3 event games so far so can't really attest to online play yet.

It's been a mental block more for me in that when I use it and then see the ball actually go to the side I want, I'm almost always early. I think I'm going to selectively use it rather than use it on a majority of pitches for now.

I use it off and on and what works for me is inside pitches only with same handed batter to the pitcher (Left vs Left etc).

Mainly use it on the first pitch of the at bat, then at times up 2-1, 3-1 in the count.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they said in one of the pre-release streams that the penalty for swinging at a pitch outside of what you picked was a jump of 2 difficulties. For example, if you were on All-Star, the penalty would be the same as hitting on Legend.

I’ve only been using it in hitters counts where I’m only going to swing at a pitch in a certain location. I think it actually helps me stay patient in those situations.
