Sim stats in franchise

So, I have gone through and simmed multiple seasons in franchise.

The lack of strikeouts is very concerning. There are maybe a handful of guys that end up with k/9 over 9.0+. Most guys are well under this. I did go in and edit some starting pitchers and boost their k/9 rating up 15 points and it was better, but it also sent their overalls through the roof. And then they were very dominant on the year.

I did find that CPU starting pitching stamina at 4 is spot on. Manager hook at 5 for all sims. The first sim year I had it at 5 and there were 52 CG’s and 10 pitchers with 200+ IP. With it at 4, I did multiple seasons. (25CG’s and 7 over 200IP, 18CG’s and 4 over 200IP, 20CG’s and 6 over 200IP, 21CG’s and 3 over 200IP.). I did up the sim injury slider to 10 in season 3, 4 and 5.

Trade logic, unfortunately, is still broken. My Twins, in 3 of the seasons, traded away Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan, Johan Duran and Griffin Jax and they were either winning the division or holding a WC spot in all 3 seasons.

Hopefully the roster creators can use the lack of strikeouts issue when edited players.

I am not sure how CPU SP Stamina at 4 will affect in-game play yet.

Re: Sim stats in franchise

Strikeouts are due to low K/9 based on the DD roster and offline roster being the same, so for the game perspective, guys have lower K/9 than they should because the top DD guys have up to 125 K/9. Until they boost up the amount of Ks, the way to fix it is to just rerate the K/9 for each pitcher before starting a franchise. A few roster makers here have done it so you get more realistic numbers.

Do you know of any rosters that have this done yet? Otherwise, I might start plugging away. It is really killing my immersion in franchise.

Re: Sim stats in franchise

Here’s two that I know of that a lot of people use. I personally have changed it myself in years past but may use one of these since I’m not sure I’ll have the time.

Re: Sim stats in franchise

Most full year team stats seem in line with 23/24 MLB actuals. As mentioned, strikeouts are low but also put outs and assists are higher than recent years. It appears the sim stats have more batted ball outs than modern baseball. The sims stats for those categories are similar to around the 2010 MLB season.

Mine will be done tomorrow
It's mainly for more accurate sim stats, especially k/9
