Road to the Show Thread

It’s the main mode I play and I’m extremely happy with the mode this year. I chose not to go to college and was drafted in the first round, pick 30 overall to the Royals.

The progression system to me feels like you have total control of your player. The gear and perks aren’t overwhelming (at least not in the first 3 months of the season). I’m still in AA into June and I feel like getting your attributes up to the upper echelons of the MLB greats may take quite a while and I’m here for that.

One thing that has surprised me in this mode is that CPU teams actually trade with one another. The last title I played was 2022 so this could have been an improvement in the 2023 or 2024 titles.

Please comment your opinions and your progress thus far.

Re: Road to the Show Thread

So in years past difficulty in RTTS was scaled to your level. So if you set it on all star

In AA it would be veteran
In AAA it would be all star
In MLB it would be set to HOF

Also i was drafted by the Royals too! I’m a CFer

Is this still the case this year???

When I eventually get around to RTTS, no college for me neither.
No Syracuse, then no higher learning for this guy. Those other uni's, the enemies, are worthless.

And when I do begin my road to the Majors, pitcher for this guy.

I have dynamic difficulty turned off. I allow the ratings of other players to determine the level of difficulty. If I find it too easy or too hard, I’ll adjust the sliders accordingly.

Going to college gives you 20 tokens to spend but it takes up 3 years of your career. To me, one overall point isn’t worth missing 3 years of pro ball. The only benefit going to college is trying to become the #1 overall pick, which doesn’t have any perks attached to it other than for your own ego.

I created a knuckleballer, did the showcase and was drafted by Nationals. Chose to go to TCU since they added a boost to break, then was taken by the Brewers. I'm not as concerned about what age my player is since I like the grind of working through the minors.

In mid May and I sport a 3-2 record with a sub-3.00 era with 36 K's to 4 BB's in eight starts. I try to stay on the corners/edges of the zone, but you never know where a knuckle ball will go!

Re: Road to the Show Thread

Just created my pitcher today after the glorious FEDEX man tossed it on my porch.

Went through high school, project 5-9 i think? Went 7th round to St Louis. Nope, went to Fullerton instead. Kinda shocked only 2 colleges were interested in me, but that's OK. Going through the MLB combine now, and hope to finish that after my 12 hour shift.

5 dragging on hours to go!!

Re: Road to the Show Thread

I went to college. Projected top 10 not drafted yet. I like starting my pro career at 21 rather than 18. Lost 2nd game HS but won college WS with TCU as a 3B. The Bunt thing still seems to be a problem. First game I bought in awhile so far I like it.

Edit: I chose to go to Detroit and went one. Not sure if they got lucky in the lottery or it just the way it works.
